Leaving their worries behind and off to enjoy life: Ten families will start their vacations in holiday homes on the Baltic coast

Bremen, 8 April 2019. Just in time for the start of the Easter holidays, ten families will be packing their bags, boarding the SV Werder Bremen team coach, and setting off on their holidays – this is what the “Holiday with Heart” project is all about. Since 2014, “Holiday with Heart” has been supporting families who are unable to go on holiday due to misfortune or financial hardship. This year, Werder ambassador Wigald Boning and Werder player Sebastian Langkamp, among others, will provide an unforgettable holiday experience.

Just like a professional footballer: In the Werder coach to the Baltic Sea

For the fifth year in a row, Traum-Ferienwohnungen, together with WERDER BEWEGT (“WERDER MAKES A DIFFERENCE”) and the radio station ENERGY Bremen, is giving away time off with very personal moments as part of the “Holiday with Heart” project. Marco Bode, SV Werder Bremen Chairman of the Board, will provide a very special send-off for the ten families at Weser Stadium. Immediately afterwards, the families will be taken to Kühlungsborn in the players’ chic green-and-white team coach in just under three hours, with 300 euros in travel pocket money in their luggage. This is where their Baltic Sea holiday will start, in their own apartments and holiday homes.

Experiencing shared time together

Just after they arrive at their holiday destination, the Mayor of Kühlungsborn, Rüdiger Kozian, will welcome the families together with Werder’s President and Managing Director, Dr Hubertus Hess-Grunewald. In addition to the good sea air and a kilometre-long beach promenade, fantastic shared leisure activities await the families. The children and their parents will experience moments that really count during two action-packed days with the “Holiday with Heart” crew. Werder’s President Hess-Grunewald and the ENERGY Bremen morning show Moin! will also be on site. Hosts Chris and Lea.

The campaign is particularly important to Nicolaj Armbrust, founder and managing director of Traum-Ferienwohnungen, “Every year we are part of the holiday planning of innumerable families, which naturally gives us great joy. However, while many children start a new school year freshly rested after the holidays, children from families in financial distress can only rarely, if ever, escape everyday family life. We are glad that we can help affected families.”

“I’m glad the families are finally starting their well-earned holiday. It’s unfortunate that I can’t be there for the departure due to training being held. Therefore, I will take this opportunity to wish the participants a lot of fun and a fantastic time”, says Sebastian Langkamp, who has guided and supported this year’s project from the beginning.
